I thought Library Thing was the most interesting site and exercise on Lib. 2.0 so far because of its bibliophile focus. Anyone who loves to read always enjoys the suggestions by others, especially of similar books within a genre. The tags that Library Thing uses makes it helpful and very easy to use. The opportunity of having in one place (other than a scrap of paper that invariably gets misplaced) favorite authors and titles is wonderful. I will even get my husband, Tim, to start his own account because he can never remember what book he last read in a series - somehow it became MY job....Um, not anymore, sweetie!

becoming an Avatar
I returned to the Yahoo avatar site to create the "other" me and explore its image generator capabilities. It was fun once again to play with the possibilites, and the one that I eventually was happy with became a postcard to send to Jeannie. I then deleted it from my e-mail because it was still winking!

Looking at image generators
It appears that this link is everchanging from the folks at image generator. I
In doing this exercise, I learned to create a live link, and it turned out that all I had to do was use "compose" on the blog site instead of the "edit html" - how simple is that?!

RSS... and then some!
Thank goodness for library friends who help! (And who get me out of trouble) Somehow I have created two blogs: as if one wasn't enough! I'm hoping with Jeannie's techy expertise that one of these will be banished forever.
I had great help from my friend, Thurston in getting the RSS feeds - now I have all the news I want to ignore in one place!
Then, Greenroof came through to try and help me banish the other blog. Helping Hands -isn't this what makes our library so great?

Sets rolling over La Lancha reef
Looking at the links to the different kinds of mashups, it amazes me that people take the time to post the many differing degrees of information with complete strangers! I found it very informative to look at the sites that combine travel info, photos and then include city maps to show exact locations. Thurston showed me the Yahoo travel site that he had checked out for this exercise and I liked the way I could go from the trip photos, then to the maps and itinerary for individuals. It will be very helpful to use this in the future for any vacation destination we're considering!
